HOW-TO: Install GB Racing Engine Covers on your Yamaha R3
The GB Racing engine covers are an extremely valuable part of equipment that will provide the ultimate crash protection for your engine and OEM engine cases. These sacrificial bolt-on pieces are a perfect fit and designed specifically for your bike. The installation process can be done relatively quickly with some basic tools. One of the main advantages of the GB Racing covers is that you do not need to remove your OEM covers. The reverse wear indicator is also a nice touch since it allows you to visually determine if your case is still usable after a crash.
Review & Installation of the RS1 Hit-Air Wearable Airbag Vest
In this short video, I am explaining how the Hit-Air RS1 airbag vest works and I am also documenting the process of attaching the coiled wire to the frame of the bike. This is a new installation of the coiled wired on my R3 project bike. However, I have been using this airbag system for the last four years. I used this vest with all my race bikes, and I am convinced that this is the optimal setup for track days. I specifically chose this model because you don’t need to charge any batteries. You can re-pack the system yourself in case of an incident (as long as the airbag…
HOW-TO: Install a Driven Racing Fuel Cap on your R3
In this video, I document the process of installing a Driven Racing HALO fuel cap (and base). If you plan on converting your R3 into a track bike, you need to do this modification! Having a keyless gas cap looks really good, but the main advantage is that you no longer need to have a key to open the gas tank. You will also reduce the bike’s overall weight since the HALO cap is approximately 25% lighter. Replacing the OEM gas cap with an aftermarket keyless unit is a relatively inexpensive and straightforward modification for your bike. The full process of removing the old OEM cap and replacing it with a new…
